When I tried opening my Premiere project, TF2 - Something’s Sappening - Episode 2. I was shocked to find all my media files shown as offline in the program monitor.
But the weird thing was that all other parts of Premiere could actually access these files. I could double-click them on the time line to show and play them in the source monitor and I could do the same in the files bin.
After having a look on the net, I could not find anything relating to this weird problem. All I found was
This was not very useful for my problem, because it didn’t work. I tried relinked them, even though they were accessible. However, the program monitor refused to show them as online!
The solution
What I did was actually a very simple procedure! All I did was select all the files in my imported files list. Note that you do not have to select the files in a bin, simple selecting the bin folder will select all files inside that bin.
The second thing I did was simply right click the files, while they were selected and selected “Interpret footage”. Every file that was used on the timeline was now shown in the program monitor as online once more, a party was what followed.
A small annoyance is that I need to do this everytime I load this particular project file. Ah well at least it works, so it is a minor annoyance... Hehe, maybe next time I;ll remember to BACKUP my project file REGULARLY, something I always do. I must’ve forgotten, the most recent back was a file I created last week. Shame on me!
