Fooling around in Team Fortress 2, Ocha and I came across this situation, where Ocha came into my base on ctf_2fort, and my sentry wasn't able to shoot him!
Its a well-known fact that a dispenser can disable the tracking of a sentry. However I didn't know the hitbox was as tall as a player. I mean isn't it silly that a player can stand behind it and have his head showing, while the sentry can't hit him.
Not that it really matters in an online game, where a lot of players are around to help out the engineer. I mean this kind of situation does not come up very often, where an enemy player is so close to take advantage of a dispenser like this.
Here’s the YouTube of it set to the Hawaii Five O Theme song. You know I’ve never seen a sentry that was out of bullets. I’ve always figured the top bar in the sentry icon was it’s health. Not paying much attention to it of course, because is doesn’t go really go down if you keep hammering on the sentry...
A spy could use this to kill the engineer. But now out in the open in an enemy base, he has to act pretty damn fast to sap all the stuff from the now dead engineer.
You know to avoid being exploded/fried/knocked on the head by a now very angry team out for revenge.
Why does everyone hate spies, oh wait because they are a backstabbing bunch that weren’t on your side anyways…
