Containment Questions and Answers
The Containment FAQ for those interested. I will try to answer most if not all question regarding Containment. If you have further questions and they’re not answered in this FAQ, feel free to ask them in either the forums or trough the contact page
- Developer tiles suck, where is the artsy stuff?
- That’s not very nice, I’ve spend ages creating those tiles! Well not really... Anyway, up to Build18 I have been working on the coding side of things mostly.
As of Build19, I’ll be focusing on both. As a matter of fact, Build 19 is a full focus on world artwork, to finally have something nice to look at.
Note:
The developer tiles will always be in there, they will just be invisible. Their only purpose is to handle the collisions.

- Four guys, does this mean multiplayer?
- Nope, no multiplayer here. Containment is a single player game where you have four uniquely skilled character at your disposal. You could call it multi-character I suppose
- How about a level editor!
- Hey now, that’s not a question. But I’ll answer this one, Currently I am creating the worlds from within Construct itself. So the world or level is not based on anything outside Construct.
However I am interested in having a look at perhaps making another application to create levels using a simple array file. So when the game is done and released, it will initially not have this ability, but I’ll try to look into this!

- What is this Sludge?
- Sludge Creep is the lifeblood of the Aliens and is spread by the Sludgecreeper throughout the world. The Aliens can spawn from it and also get buffs and healing from it when they are near.
Furthermore the Sludge Creep will disable equipment and doors. It’s a good idea to get rid of the stuff and the Sludgecreeper as well

- When will the game be released?
- Oh no, it is the question I fear! This can only be answer by the patented “when it is done” response. I’m working on the game as much as I can and the features I want ingame are gradually going in. Nothing more I can say here, I just don’t know yet
- Will the game be free?
- You know, I’m not sure yet. The work going into this, which is quite a lot and being the only developer on it with code/art/sound/promo. I think it is not that outrageous to put some kind of price tag on it. Think of it as an indie price tag, what do they go for again?
- Will there be a free demo?
- Yes, there will be a free demo which is actually going to be a tutorial as well. It will be a smaller world and will have all the features which are in the full game. However the final game world will of course be much more awesome...
